the library from June 2 - September 23, 2007. Thank
you Grand Victoria Foundation and many others for making this a
wonderful project that culminated in youth from the library speaking to
the International Space Station.

Dream be at the library? The exhibit will be at
the library through September 23.
When is the SPACE: Dare to Dream
exhibit open? The exhibit is open all hours that the
library is open - Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.- 9 pm., Friday &
Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 :30 p.m., Sundays, 1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
What does it cost to visit
SPACE: Dare to Dream? It is free at the Gail
Borden Public Library due to a generous gift from the Grand Victoria
Foundation and additional support from the Gail Borden Public Library
Foundation and other community partners.
Are there docents for SPACE:
Dare to Dream? This exhibit is designed so that people
can move through the multi-media displays at their own pace in a
self-guided fashion with an informative brochure that is available
throughout the library including the Greeter's Desk upon entry into the
library. This brochure is available in both English and Spanish. For
Spanish speakers, the library now offers a SPACE: Dare to Dream audio
tour in Spanish that can be checked out from the Circulation Desk.

What will you see when you get here?
Underwritten locally by the Grand Victoria Foundation, the exhibit was
created in collaboration with NASA by Evergreen Exhibitions and national
sponsors General Motors and Lockheed Martin. Complete with a
large-scale Saturn V gantry, an Apollo 16 moon rock, Galileo’s Studio, a
Clyde Tombaugh telescope and many more exhibits, the display is located

Opening for Teachers & PTO Boards
Teachers and PTO board members are invited for Fermilab’s
Hands-On Science demonstrations, SciTech interactive exhibits,

Live with the International
Space Station and Houston
Students from the Gail Borden Public Library District will get to
speak live to the International Space Station and to NASA in Houston
during the first week of September! Questions are due by August 11.

SciTech Interactive Exhibits
Arrive August 17
Thirteen interactive exhibits including What is
Gravity and Spectrum of Stars
from the Outreach to Space project will arrive in the library on
August 17 and will be located in the Youth Department. Visitors
will be attracted and engaged to these exhibits due to the exhibits'
colorful, playful design and intensive visitor interactivity. A
National Science Foundation project, Outreach to Space resulted from
a partnership between The Exploratorium in San Francisco, The
Discovery Center in Rockford, the Science Station in Cedar Rapids,
SciTech in Aurora and several other science centers in the country.
