Finish Read on the Wild Side summer reading program by August 24
to receive a voucher for free carnival rides.
If you are using your summer reading pool pass this weekend,
please note that Wing Park Pool is closed for the season.
You can use your swim pass at the Centre of Elgin or at Lords Park Pool.

Registration Information
As of July 15th, new registrations are no longer being accepted.
If you've already registered, please remember to finish the program by 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 10 to be eligible for prizes.
Baby & Me (Babies – 23 Months) |
Parents and children read together and do some fun ready-to-read activities. Watch for wild animals on your adventure! |
Reading Together (Ages 2 & Up) |
Parents and children go on safari together and complete |
Readers (Grades 1 – 5) |
Set your own reading goal when you get your official dig site permit (reading log) and start your reading expedition! |
Middle Schoolers (Grades 6 – 8) |
No shovels needed to excavate exciting stories at the library. Complete at least 20 hours of reading for a chance to win a $50 gift card. Participate in a team competition and an online reading game to unearth more fun and prizes! |
Teens |
For every five books you read, your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win!

Pre-Readers, Readers and MiddleSchoolers Finish the Program to Receive
- Choice of a paperback book or a minibundle of comic books
- Coupons to local businesses while supplies last
- Pass to swim free one time (from August 16 – 18) at Lords Park or The Centre of Elgin
- Free rides at the Elgin carnival on September 26
Teens can win:
- Grand prize of $100 in gift certificates
- $50 in gift certificates (two winners)
- $10 in gift certificates (ten winners)
