The Gail Borden Public Library District located in Elgin, IL will host The Big Read from September 1 - November 11, 2013.

The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment. The objectives are to encourage education and literacy galvanize the community through partnerships, reach out to serve a diverse underserved population, invigorate programming and build awareness.
