Join us for our Keynote presentation with Deborah Grassman, the author of "Peace at Last: Stories of Hope and Healing for Veterans and Their Families." Grassman has worked with caregivers, family members, and veterans themselves to understand the impact of war and military culture on our lives and emotions. She gathered the veterans' stories of pain and redemption, personal awakening, and peace and created this book. This presentation will sensitize participants with the unique needs of veterans.

Author of Stepped Out of the Womb: A Memoir of the Journey to the Land Where the Sun Falls, and the film, The Betrayal: Nerakhoon, Mr. Thavisouk, an Oscar nominee will discuss his journey and compelling life philosophy that allowed him to overcome great obstacles before and after the film screening. Joanna's book Indochina's Refugees:  Oral Histories from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, relays personal accounts from refugees fleeing oppression after the Communist takeover of Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The Lao Oral History Project debuts its first videos of our community’s residents. A discussion will follow led by Joanna Scott, Thavisouk Phrasavath and Aloune Khotisene. Refreshments will be served. No registration.
