Early Literacy Associate
Are you a creative, hands-on person with a passion for bringing the library to life for our youngest customers? If you are passionate about early literacy and enjoy serving young children and families, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We’re looking for a friendly and dynamic individual with excellent communication and customer service skills to join our KidSpace team at the Main Library location. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who enjoys engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds and helps ensure that everyone feels welcome at the library.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate, plan and present regular Storytimes for children and families.
 - Provide basic readers’ advisory and reference assistance at the KidSpace reference desk.
 - Provide customers with basic technological assistance.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience working with children in group settings.
 - Familiarity with child development and children’s literature.
 - Ability to speak comfortably in front of large crowds.
 - Knowledgeable of basic computer applications and tablets.
 - Bilingual English/Spanish skills desirable.
 
Part-time position (25 hours/week). Schedule includes weekdays and every other full weekend:
- Mondays 8:30 am– 2:30 pm
 - Wednesdays 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
 - Fridays 8:30 am – 2:30 pm
 - Saturdays & Sundays – 11 am – 5:00 pm

Elementary Librarian
Do you have a passion for literacy, learning, and engaging with children and families? We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and collaborative Elementary Librarian to join our KidSpace team at the Main Library location.
This role focuses on delivering outstanding services to children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, caregivers and educators through innovative programs, exceptional reference and readers’ advisory services and strong community connections.
In this role you will:
- Provide readers' advisory and reference services.
 - Collaborate with other departments to provide high-quality programs and services.
 - Plan and present activities, programs and events.
 - Serve as a Person in Charge in the absence of a manager.
 - Assist customers with technology-related questions, library equipment and explain library policies.
 
We are looking for someone who is:
- Customer-focused, enthusiastic, friendly and empathetic.
 - Knowledgeable of child development and age-appropriate programming.
 - Skilled in public speaking, program delivery and audience engagement.
 
Qualifications:
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school.
 - Experience working with children.
 - Previous public Library experience preferred.
 - Bilingual English/Spanish skills desirable.
 
Full-time position (37.5 hours/week). Schedule includes weekday, evening, and weekend hours.
