Customer Relations Assistant

Are you a positive and friendly individual who enjoys engaging with all types of people? Our Customer Relations Department may be the place for you! Our Main Library has a part-time opening for someone who has excellent communication and customer service skills.

We are looking for someone who is:

• A real “people person,” enthusiastic, caring, friendly, and empathetic.
• A team player who thinks quickly on their feet as decisions need to be made.
• A self-starter with the initiative and courage to propose new ideas.

 In this role you will:

• Perform circulation services, including check-in/check-out of materials and placing holds on materials.
• Perform library card registration and program registration.
• Provide information to customers by answering questions and being proactive with offering assistance in a friendly and professional manner.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

25 hours per week – combination of days, nights, and weekend hours.

Director of Mobile Library Services

Gail Borden Public Library is looking for a dynamic, positive, creative, and experienced Librarian to join our versatile, cross-trained, ten-member Mobile Library Services Department. The successful individual in this position will be a reliable, motivated, and energetic leader who is passionate about serving our 145,000 district residents across 65 square miles.

In this role you will:

• Lead and manage Mobile Services staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee a variety of engaging mobile services in the community, including Home Services, Digital Equity, Elementary School Services, Early Literacy, Bookmobile and Book Bike.
• Oversee vehicles and operations at the Davis Rd. Annex, home of the Mobile Library Services Department.

Qualifications: 

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a public library position including supervisory experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Class C License, preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience driving a large vehicle or school bus, preferred.
• Must have a safe driving record for a minimum of five years.
• Customer service experience.
• Library ILS and library outreach experience a plus.
• Spanish language skills a plus.

Full-time position (37.5 hours/week) - Schedule may include weekday, evening, and weekend hours.
