Mobile Library Services Assistant

In this role, you’ll join our Mobile Library Services team aboard the TechKnow Mobile, Bookmobile, and other outreach vehicles, bringing the library directly to where people live, work, play, and relax. We’re looking for someone who is bilingual in English and Spanish, collaborative, well-organized, and skilled at managing time, priorities, and follow-up.
In this role you will:
- Provide circulation services for library materials, including check-in, check-out, renewals, and holds.
- Assist customers with registering for new library cards, updating accounts, and signing up for programs and classes.
- Assist customers with technology-related questions and provide basic readers' advisory.
- Organize and shelve library materials aboard outreach vehicles to maintain a well-ordered collection.
- Engage with community members to promote library events, services, and programs.
- Collaborate with Mobile Library Services staff to foster a positive, supportive, and team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
- Ability to organize materials alphabetically and numerically.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Experience working with children is a plus.
Part-time: 18 hours per week. Schedule includes weekday, evening, and weekend hours.

Business & Career Services Librarian
Gail Borden Public Library is looking for a full-time librarian who is adaptive, kind, and innovative, to work at our Main Library location. This role is ideal for a librarian who is passionate about empowering individuals through career development, business support, and consumer literacy.
In this role, you will:
- Provide general reference assistance and readers’ advisory to customers.
- Review and edit the library’s resource guides and web pages for businesses and job hunters.
- Build relationships with community partners.
- Plan, prepare, and teach in-house programs, classes, and events.
- Serve as U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent.
Qualifications:
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school.
- Previous public library experience preferred.
- Public presentation experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly desired.
Other eligibility requirements to serve as a U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent are as follows:
- U.S. citizen or a U.S. non-citizen national
- 18 years of age or older
- Does not have a record of either: (i) A Federal or State felony conviction; or (ii) A misdemeanor conviction for crimes involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, including but not limited to embezzlement, identity theft, misappropriation, document fraud, drug offenses, or dishonesty in carrying out a responsibility involving public trust.
Full-time (37.5 hours/week) - Schedule includes weekday, evening, and weekend hours.

Elementary School Engagement Coordinator
Are you passionate about literacy, education, and community engagement? Do you love working with kids and building partnerships that make a difference? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organized individual to join our Mobile Library Services team.
This position develops, coordinates, and implements educational outreach services for grade school students, principals, teachers, librarians, and parents with the goal of equitable access to information, reading materials, and the acquisition of literacy skills. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a collaborative work environment and is enthusiastic about connecting children and educators to library services.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate outreach and programming for grade school students at schools and community sites.
- Collaborate with teachers, principals, school librarians, and community organizations.
- Provide access to library resources, promote reading and support the development of lifelong learning
- Coordinate the children’s Summer Reading Challenge with community partners.
- Assist with Bookmobile visits to schools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience working with children in group settings.
- Experience engaging with grade school-aged children.
- Knowledge and experience with basic computer applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills required.
Full-time, non-exempt position (37.5 hours per week) - Primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
