Two Boxcars, Three Blocks, One City

This documentary tells the history of African Americans in Elgin, from “contrabands” who were slaves during the Civil War who arrived in Elgin by boxcars to present-day Black citizens and their accomplishments. Experience enthralling stories and photos of this exhibit, created by the Elgin History Museum, local historian Ernie Broadnax and Grindstone Productions.
