The Early Learning Center serves children from birth to Kindergarten and their caregivers. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.


Programming Guidelines

Following state guidelines, the following safeguardes are in place for in-person KidSpace programming:

  • Masks are required for all visitors ages 2 years and older
  • 6 ft. social distancing is required


Services and Collections 

Aquarium – Take a look at our aquarium! What can you find?

Audio-Visual for check out – DVDs, CDs, and CD-ROMS for children are available for checkout.

Books – Board books, picture books, books in Spanish, and magazines are all available for checkout.

Computers – Our computers feature Internet access, our online library catalog, and the same electronic resources that are found in the Information Services Department.

Crafts – The craft changes weekly. Crafts are intended for children and their adult caregiver to do together. Supplies are in the cupboard above the craft counter. If supplies are out, our staff will be glad to assist you.

Kits and Puppets – Books with CDs and puppets are available for checkout.

Library Cards – Parents can decide when they want their children to have a library card. Please visit the Registration desk in the Marketplace area to apply for your free library card today! Restrictions may apply.

Parent Shelf – The parent shelf is located on the gold wall. This collection contains helpful books on child rearing, dealing with behavior problems, games, party planning, craft ideas and more.

Puzzles and Games – Games in the red game cabinets and puzzles in the racks are for check out. Games and puzzles found on tables, counters and open shelves in the rotunda area (where the climber is) may be played with in the Early Learning Center.

Rotunda – Have fun playing on the climber. Make a special meal for your family in our play kitchen, put together a puzzle and more. There is a lot to do in this area!
