SPECIAL NOTICE: Our Volunteen program has been suspended indefinitely due to safety concerns. We want to see our teens and give them opportunities to help their community, but it is more important that they, their families, and library staff stay safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. We will restart the Volunteen program when library administrators determine that it is safe to hold in-person programs at Gail Borden.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the library!

Teens in grades 6-8 can apply to become Volunteens. (High-schoolers who wish to volunteer can join the Studio Volunteer Corps based out of Studio 270.)

Volunteens volunteer for 1 hour per week, with other teens, doing a variety of tasks. Volunteen hours can be used to fulfill service commitments at school, church, or other organizations.

An application is available in the Youth Center and must be completed in advance, with a parent or guardian's signature. A limited number of teens will be accepted for each time slot, so please apply early.  For more information, please contact Aron Ryan at 847-289-5818 or aryan@gailborden.info.
